I created this watercolor shortly after the Kabul airport strike in August 2021 where 13 of our troops lost their lives in service to our country. These Boots represent so much. They carry the feet of every demographic-male, female, black, white, atheist and Christian. They stand in harms way so that I don’t have to. They have run up stairs in burning buildings, walked through every climate on earth, and no matter how worn they are, they still stand for freedom.
